The Maryland Board of Physicians (the Board) is looking to fill a physician assistant position on the Physician Assistant Advisory Committee (the PAAC).
Successful candidates must be Maryland residents, have an active, unencumbered Maryland physician assistant license, currently practice as a physician assistant, or be employed as a faculty member of an accredited physician assistant program. The Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants (MdAPA) or one of Maryland's accredited physician assistant programs must nominate candidates.
Note: A candidate appointed to the Committee may not serve concurrently on the Advisory Committee and as an elected officer in their professional association. (Health Occupations Article ยง1-222(b), Annotated Code of Maryland.)
MdAPA will be taking nominations for this open position. Here are the guidelines for those interested:
Multiple nominations are prudent and encouraged. To receive a nomination from the MdAPA BOD, the certified PA:
- Must be in good standing as a Fellow Member.
- Understand this is a 3-year commitment, with option for one renewable term (total of 6 years).
- Commit to meeting monthly starting July of the elected year, in Baltimore City. Attendance is compulsory and the meetings typically span 1 hour and will require preparation.
- To express interest, the Fellow Member must share the CV and letter of intent (500 words or less) by April 29th. All interested PAs need to email their CV with a letter of interest to Jennifer Grover at [email protected].
