Maryland Physician Assistant Advocacy Day!

Monday, January 29, 2024!

 5 – 8 PM

Senate and House Buildings Annapolis

The Maryland Academy of PAs legislative team has been working to improve the PA practice laws in Maryland. Please join PAs and PA students in Maryland as we speak with our legislators about current barriers to Physician Assistant Practice, and how Senate Bill 167 can improve care we provide to Marylanders!

WHY we need YOU:

  • Legislators want to hear your stories, your experiences, and our barriers to care in Maryland.

  • You are the experts in your practice and are the best advocates for your patients!

  • Your stories help our legislators relate to why this modernization bill matters.

Your assignments will be sent to you Sunday, January 28, 2024 via the email you provide.    We will visit with legislators in groups, and then celebrate at Harry Browns after. We will have virtual training sessions prior to the event so we can be ready when we arrive Monday, Jan 29th.

MdAPA’s Legislative Affairs committee current director is Jennifer Grover, DHSc, MMS, PA-C. The PA practice act is outdated to current practice and is detrimental the allowing PAs to practice consistent with their education and training.

We are always in need of PA advocates to address the growing need for parity within the medical field. Knowing your legislator is an important part of addressing the issues concerning PA practice in Maryland. If you are interested in helping further by serving on the legislative committee, contact the Legislative Director, Jennifer Grover, DHSc, MMS, PA-C at [email protected].
